Educational Programs

The Arts & Technology Workshop encourages creative expression in high tech mediums. It fosters intercultural communication by showcasing the work of artists from a wide spectrum of ethnic backgrounds. It leads toward a future where all points of view are represented electronically, with input from all over the world.

Carl Demangate (aka Carlos, aka Charles, aka cdem@rain.org) founded the Workshop with 5 students in 1989 to provide opportunities for youth with little access to technology. Today a growing number of artists and alumni bring instruction to more than 300 students each year in classes, mentorships, and activities of artistic, social, and community import.
